Hello Community!
Every year, before we count our inventory, we try to clean up the warehouse from items that sell slowly, have been discontinued, or that we can’t make anymore due to component availability (a big issue this year). This year we’ve got about $75,000 of inventory to sell at a 25-75% discount. Each product has its own story but they’re all fully functional and useful in a number of applications. Some have been replaced with newer versions — sometimes without much improvement and certainly not enough to label them obsolete!
Below, I’ve tried to point out what I think is special about some of these components. If you have a need for our entire inventory of any of these parts, we can make a deal outside of our online store. For example, if a school district (or a state) is interested in the micro:bit v1.5 modules, we’ll make a deal!
Please don’t let our sale cause concern that your favorites might also be discontinued in the future. Such products are part of core existence and the ones you rely on for your own business or educational program. These include BASIC Stamps, our robot kits, Propeller 1 and 2 chips and modules, and the many sensors we manufacture in Rocklin, California. For example, we still manufacture the BS1-IC, which was released in 1992.
Sincerely,
Ken Gracey

- 32703 Micro:bit v1.5 GO
- 32704 Micro:bit v1.5 CLUB Educators should consider the v1.5 micro:bit module if they are having difficulty sourcing the newer v2. The v1.5 has most of the v2 features (except the speaker, touch-pad button, and microphone). Both v1.5 and V2 are compatible with our cyber:bot and our electronics kit.
- 64030 Holiday Spin2 Kit For customers starting to use the Propeller 2, this is a collection of components used in our P2 Quick Bytes. Get them all at once, in a bag, and start using our example code.
- 32416 XB24CAPIT-001 XBee modules from Digi are out of stock nearly everywhere and will be for many months as they are replaced with the Series 3 (which is backward compatible with this unit and others). For simple RF communication, this module is ideal! We stock several styles of adapters, and our Propeller Activity Board WX even has a socket for the module.
- 28065 LSM9DS1 9-axis This sensor measures linear acceleration, angular velocity, and magnetic field strength on three axes.
- 900-00025 High Speed Servo This servo is the ideal upgrade for the Shield-Bot with Arduino, cyber:bot, and Boe-Bot. If you want your robot to move really fast, as you see about halfway through this line-following video, then consider having some of these on hand. Every classroom should have at least 20 of them.
- 28938 Sharp GP2A25J0000F Sensor 4pk+ Another handy set of digital high/low sensors that work with just about any microcontroller can detect white/black or voids in front of it. Useful for line following, presence of an object, etc.

- 32150 Propeller Mini SOLD OUT!
- 27911 Gyroscope Module L3G4200D This sensor provides raw angular rate and temperature data measurements that are accessed from the selectable digital I2C or SPI interface.
- 27920 HS1101 Humidity Sensor A simple relative humidity sensor.
- 605-00007 CO Gas Sensor A sensor for detecting carbon monoxide.
