Dear Educators,
Our micro:bit curriculum has grown significantly in the past few years, so here’s a quick guide to help you get directly to the tutorials and hardware required. This isn’t as complicated as it seems – the cyber:bot and a few basic kits are needed to achieve a full-year program. You can generally mix and match these resources and choose your own sequence.
- Robotics with cyber:bot Our most popular series integrates robotics, sensors, coding, AI, and machine learning around the cyber:bot. This is a favorite among students and educators.

- Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning and Vision with cyber:bot brings the cyber:bot into the next level using vision sensing for object recognition and tracking.

- What’s a Microcontroller? with Python Complete Kit (#32750) — or
- What’s a Microcontroller? with Python Parts Kit 12-Pack Plus Kit for Classrooms (#32752).
- But if you already have micro:bit modules, you can get the What’s a Microcontroller? with Python Parts Kit (without micro:bit).
- Cybersecurity Created with our partners Cyber.org, this curriculum is a detailed Python scripting set of tutorials using the micro:bit module’s wireless radio to build, hack, and improve communication protocols. The tutorials initially only require a micro:bit module, and the cyber:bot is required for the second half of the series.

- Sensors Connect sensors to the micro:bit and measure them with simple scripts. Some of the things you’ll measure include pushbuttons, motion, tilt, direction, moisture level, liquid level, distance, black/white stripes, and pressure.
