School robotics programs are restarting in different forms around the country and we’re answering calls about hardware choices, switching between robots, software updates, and curriculum for the different platforms we support. Summer programs are being planned and educators are being trained through Parallax’s distance learning program. To help you get started (or restarted) you may contact us with any needs:
- E-mail firstname.lastname@example.org
- Educator Hotline (916) 701-8625 or Sales (916) 624-8333 for quotes/orders
Also, here are the direct links to the 12-Pack Plus Kits for the Classroom of each of our popular robots:
- Shield-Bot for Arduino (Arduino and C)
- ActivityBot 360 (BlocklyProp and Propeller C)
- cyber:bot (micro:bit and Python)
- Boe-Bot (BASIC Stamp and PBASIC) – not available in the 12-Pack Plus format, but individually
The 12-Pack Plus kits include the main robot for all of the publish curriculum, plus a number of add-ons (Line Followers, Ping))) Ultrasonic Sensor with Servo, Infrared Remote Control, rechargeable batteries, spare parts, etc) for scaffolding learning and competitions. These boxes are really big and you’ll be certain you made the right choice when it arrives! Most importantly, your students will remember taking your class.
You won’t see Parallax’s robot kits being discontinued, as has recently occurred with some other platforms (i.e., Lego EV3). Customers sometimes ask if the original Boe-Bot will be around and the answer is “most certainly, as long as people buy it.” Many educators use the original Boe-Bot with the BASIC Stamp 2 and have no reason to use the other kits.
For each program, we have educator-only access to assessments, scope and sequence, and classroom presentation material. Request educator access by e-mail.
