This is a custom-made USB to 2.1 mm ID (5.5 mm OD) center positive power cord designed for use with the USB Mains Adapter, 18W, 5V, 3A (#750-00001). Together, these two parts —which are sold separately — provide a reliable 5V, high-current power supply across 18 AWG wire, unlike any cable you will find off the shelf.
This gauge of wire supports high-current demands of motors when used with our Propeller 2 products. Use this pair with the P2 Edge Mini Breakout Board (#64019) and P2 Edge Module Breadboard (#64020).
The advantage of this combination is that it eliminates having to carry and store a larger wall plug power supply — use your computer’s USB port or the small 120V to USB 5V 3.0A wall pack. This is also a fairly flexible, but straight cable — it won’t tangle with different equipment on your desk.
