BASIC Stamp 2p24, 2p40, 2pe, and 2px Last Chance Purchase Opportunity

Table of Contents

Dear Community,

We have arrived at the final manufacturing phase for the BASIC Stamp2p series. All the modules in this series are equipped with the SX48BD-G microcontroller, which has ceased production for almost 20 years now.

Note: the famous BASIC Stamp 1 and BASIC Stamp 2 will remain in production for many years. These modules use the PIC16C56 and PIC16C57 microcontroller from Microchip, which are active-status parts.

Recognizing the crucial role these modules play in your products, we are extending an opportunity for final purchase. To assist you during this transitional period, we are offering the modules at a discounted rate, rather than their regular retail price.

If you typically secure your supply of these modules through Parallax’s online portal, please be aware that they will not be immediately available online and the inventory levels may show as zero. Given that we prioritize fulfilling purchase orders, it would be beneficial for you to submit your purchase order directly to us. This strategic action will ensure that our sales team can reserve the remaining production quantities for you before they are made accessible for online purchase.

The above graphic provides an overview of the final quantities we are planning to add to our inventory from our manufacturing plant in Rocklin, California over the next few weeks.

To submit your purchase order, please contact our sales team at sales@parallax.com. Alternatively, if you choose to place an online order and wait until inventory is available for online purchase, the links to each product are provided below:

If you are prepared to transition to a different product, I highly recommend considering the FLiP Multicore Module. It is designed around the Parallax Propeller 1 Multicore Microcontroller and comes with the assurance of long-term availability.

Thank you for your support and long-term use of the BASIC Stamp 2p.

Best regards,

Ken Gracey
