Boe-Bots Used in Nebraska STEM Camp for Blind Students

Table of Contents

Parallax’s educational partner cyber.org has established a unique niche in their educational program: teaching vision-impaired and blind students STEM education using the Boe-Bot. The BASIC Stamp Windows Editor works particularly well with screen readers, a requirement of the program. As shown in the article linked above, the students are building and coding for some complex projects like using accelerometers to prevent rollovers on contoured courses and making talking distance detection devices with the EMIC 2 Text to Speech Module. Dr. Charles Gardner of cyber.org has worked in similar science camps in Virginia for several years, but this was the first program of this type he supported in Nebraska.

Thank you, Cyber.org!
