For well over a year, micro:bit modules have come and gone from our inventory. While we regularly receive thousands into our stock, they are always gone within a few days. Why the shortage? The global semiconductor supply shortage and component obsolescence have made it difficult for the micro:bit Educational Foundation to consistently supply them to resellers like Parallax. Component lead times around the world went from weeks to many months or even a year. As a Channel Partner, we regularly have tens of thousands of modules on order and do our best to ensure that every student and school receives their micro:bit modules.
If we are out of micro:bit modules you can also buy them in our kits, which are nearly always in stock.

This is the best process for schools, districts, and states who need tens, hundreds, or thousands of micro:bit modules. When we receive our shipments, we will allocate the bulk of our inventory to those who secured with a purchase order. Every educational institution in the USA has automatic terms approval at Parallax, so it’s easy to place an order with us.
As an educator, you’ll usually start with a quote from us. E-mail our Sales Department (or call us at 916-624-8333) and ask Kristina, Chantal or Marcel for a quote. They’ll provide it promptly, the same day if possible. Send the PDF quote to your office and ask them to submit a purchase order from the quote. We fill purchase orders in the sequence they are received.
If you only need a few micro:bit GO kits, or maybe a CLUB kit, one solution is to put yourself on the email Waitlist. When we receive our incoming shipments of micro:bit kis, we put some into our online shop to service customers with a smaller number of needs. You would be notified by e-mail the instant they are in stock, and that would be your time to place the order.
