Joel Darbro’s students have just won two “Grand Champion” awards in the Montgomery County Kansas State Fair with their BlocklyProp projects. Robot Rodeo is a mechanical bull based on the ActivityBot 360° and the Solar Stock Tank De-icer uses the Propeller Activity Board WX. The Solar Stock Tank De-icer uses the e-Ink display, temperature sensors, an XBee RF device, and an I2C relay board to turn the heater on and off.
According to Mr. Darbo “the kids that didn’t realize they could create microcontroller projects are excited and already dreaming up projects for next year!” Congratulations to the two students and Mr. Darbro for introducing them to BlocklyProp!
