I met Vinod Akunuri at the recent EdCon conference in Phoenix, Arizona. He enthusiastically approached me without hesitation and pulled up a chair to talk about business. Vinod is a remarkable 23-year-old entrepreneur with a strong technical background. He started his own clothing company at the young age of 16 and later completed a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology with a Minor in Applied Adults Disabilities Studies from Towson University. Mr. Akunuri’s certifications, interests, motivation, and inspirations are all incredibly impressive, making him someone worth keeping an eye on because he’s destined for success.

This week, Mr. Akunuri, along with Instructional Technologist Victoria Hunter, is conducting a four-day robotics boot camp using the Parallax cyber:bot. The boot camp focuses on Python programming, cybersecurity, and electronics.

In addition to technical skills, they are also including lessons on personal marketing and branding for the students. This aspect covers topics such as using hashtags effectively, creating a professional LinkedIn profile, and showcasing their new skills for networking purposes.

Given the evolving and competitive nature of the job market, students who can creatively communicate their abilities will have a valuable advantage in the workforce.

After the first day of the boot camp, Vinod reported that the student’s progress was outstanding, and they were thoroughly enjoying the experience.

Congratulations to Mr. Akunuri and Ms. Hunter for organizing and running this highly valuable workshop!
