Educators in the Parallax educational community have been delivering exceptional experiences in their classrooms. Imagine being part of Mr. John Hammons’ Engineering and Robotics program at Alexandria City High School in Virginia. Mr. Hammons adapted the Carnegie Mellon Robotics Academy’s VEX Robotics Minefield Challenge game for classroom use. He achieved this by employing the Shield-Bot for Arduino, the Gripper 3.0, and the Infrared Remote Control. Each of these components is available individually on the Learn.parallax.com website. However, with some clever programming, these elements have been combined by the students. Some helpful links if you want to create this project for your classroom:

When I offered Mr. Hammons an additional Parallax kit as a token of appreciation for sharing his photos, his response was simply, “Thank you for creating such an exciting robotics platform and tutorials!” We have the best educational community and are very thankful for their service to their students.
