We’re always surprised what our community is doing with our Propeller 1 and 2 chips, often without any awareness from us. Last week, at the Propeller Live Forum, two Italians shared their evaluation efforts with the Propeller 2 Multicore Microcontroller. Quietly, they successfully located some of the best resources for the Propeller 2 and created a gaming system with the following features:
- 96 MB RAM (thanks to Rayslogic)
- USB port for programming and power supply (USB B )
- Additional 9 – 24 V power supply input (15 W)
- High precision RTC (supercap backed up)
- Selectable boot from 4 different flashes
- SD card
- USB hub (2 ports)
- VGA
- Analog audio out
- 16 pin expansion header
- 2 x DB9 ports (Amiga like)
- ESD protection
There’s a forum thread for their project here https://forums.parallax.com/discussion/comment/1562193#Comment_1562193 in which they shared their project initially. Shortly after, they shared it in full on our Propeller Live Forum. They’re using the gaming system to fully evaluate the Propeller for use in their own industrial designs. All of the different gaming emulators created by Ada run on it, beautifully! I’ve shared the two YouTube video links below.
Thank you to Massimo for sharing with our community, last week!
