Past Parallax Intern Graduates with Electrical and Computer Engineering Degree

Educators who teach with Parallax products influence many career choices, every day, and hardly think about their impact. Occasionally, we have similar opportunities to influence student careers when we host interns. Blake is one of those examples.

Six years ago, Blake spent two summers at Parallax as shown in the pictures above. During his internship, Blake did the following:

  • Tested and commented on our first versions of BlocklyProp buy making small projects like a garage door parking assistance, a fire-extinguishing robot, and a PIR alarm system;
  • Posted his feedback to the developers of BlocklyProp by making GitHub issues;
  • Prepared many robots for upcoming in-person Fall Educator’s Workshops; and
  • Learned to solder his projects.

Today, Blake has graduated from Western Washington University with his Bachelor’s in Electrical and Computer Engineering with a concentration on AI and Machine Learning. He’s now ready to apply these skills in the industry — and maybe even get some more experience at Parallax.

It’s very rewarding to have a positive impact on student choices, either directly by hosting an intern or through the many educators who teach with our products every day.

Congratulations, Blake! I look forward to meeting up soon!
