AI Vision for the cyber:bot and Shield-Bot for Arduino is here!
With the HuskyLens, the cyber:bot or Shield-Bot introduce hands-on AI and robotics that will take student engagement and creativity to the next level.
Our tutorials guide you step by step: first, you’ll teach the HuskyLens to recognize faces, lines, colors, tags, and objects. Then you’ll write programs so the cyber:bot can respond to what it “sees” and where those items appear in its field of vision. Each lesson builds both your coding and AI vision skills. About the Kit and Lessons:
- Tutorials are available for cyber:bot (from Parallax) and Shield-Bot (from CMU Robotics Academy).
- The micro:bit handles all HuskyLens learning, reporting, and robot actions — no software installation needed on your computer.
- The Parallax HuskyLens Kit includes everything you need (don’t buy the Amazon kit; it doesn’t include the parts you need for our tutorials):
- Compatible SD card for saving learned settings
- Mounting hardware for both cyber:bot and Shield-Bot with Arduino
- Wires and resistors for I²C connections
- Standard servo (for pan/tilt or marker attachment in future projects)
Tutorial Roadmap
- Available now (Sept 2025): Setup guide and first color-recognition tutorial.
- Coming soon (Oct–Nov): Multi-color training and robot “parking” at a target color.
