Kalie and Daisy Inspire the Rocklin Team (and changed the dog policy at Parallax)

Table of Contents

Kalie started working part-time at Parallax when she was still in high school, but chose to graduate early. Breaking out of a routine and making big decisions is normal to Kalie — she started a candle-making business at age 13 and bought her first car with her own money. She’s now working full-time in our shipping department and plans to start college classes this year with an interest in medical or nursing.

Kalie says she “enjoys working here because it’s a comfortable work environment and everyone is easy to get along with. Parallax is very understanding about flexibility with life and other tasks or schooling schedules etc.” The only part she doesn’t like is getting up early to come to work. We’re fully supportive of her educational plans and will wrap around her schedule availability as she makes her next steps.

But wait, there’s more. Kalie has a rescue dog, Daisy, who goes everywhere with her.  Until recently we’ve had a “no dog” policy in the Parallax building. It all changed at a recent company dinner when Kalie brought Daisy to dinner, and Daisy sat quietly on her lap. Daisy is a very calm, well-mannered little dog, so we invited her to the office and she quickly set the standard for our new dog policy. Dogs are now allowed if they have manners and get along with people and dogs in the office. I recently asked Kalie when Daisy will come into Parallax again, but “she was comfortably sleeping in, at home” on that particular day.

Other dogs have shown up in Parallax since Daisy arrived, so we’ll feature “Pepper” in the next story! Pepper was brought into Parallax by our Human Resources Manager, who would have been the least likely to bring a dog to the office.

Thank you for being part of Parallax, Kalie and Daisy. You both make a very positive contribution to our team.
