This release is especially important for educators and students who are using the BASIC Stamp or Boe-Bot in Chromebook classrooms. In June 2022, Google deprecated the technologies upon which the previous version of Parallax IDE was built. Prior to starting any summer programs or fall courses, it is necessary for you to download and install the new version of Parallax IDE. The new version has many improvements to window resizing, the appearance of the file and editor list, and the overall user interface.
The BASIC Stamp 2 was released in 1995 and remains a very popular tool for technical education around the world. The Boe-Bot Robot Kit, BS2-IC, and Board of Education will be in full production status for many years ahead of us. There’s also a popular Boe-Bot Robot 12-Pack Plus classroom pack and the Gripper 3.0 brings the Boe-Bot to a higher level with a single-servo actuator to retrieve objects. BASIC Stamp educational support is stronger than ever before. We fully support older versions of hardware and continue to work with classrooms that were outfitted 20 years ago.
