Hello Community,
The holiday season surfaces many thoughts as we reflect on our lives and relationships, and it’s also a time to share with others. For our Thanksgiving sale between Wednesday, November 23rd and Monday evening, November 28th, I asked our team to identify a non-profit where we could donate 5% of our revenue. We’ve done this before with a donation to Veterans Matter and Firefighter’s Burn Institute.
Our Purchasing Coordinator Robin Steffen chose Fresh Lifelines for Youth, a Bay Area organization that promotes the leadership, mentorship, and education of youth affected by the justice system. I asked Robin why she chose this organization and she replied:
I come from a very large family, my mom had 14 brothers and sisters. So, growing up with so many cousins, we all went through our own trials and tribulations. Many overcome those struggles but unfortunately some are still struggling. I also had a son who went through some trying teenage years. Thus, why I like to find ways to help struggling youth, if anything can help at least one child succeed in a better life that is great. But the more we can reach, even greater!
