Product Description

This 6.25 MHz crystal is an accurate clock source (oscillator) for through-hole PCB microcontroller circuits.  It has proven to be a reliable way to increase the speed of the Propeller P8X32A (all packages) to 100 MHz when combined with the Propeller’s internal PLL.

Note: When used with the Propeller P8X32A, no external loading capacitors are required and source code should configure the _clkmode with a gain of xtal1 and any desired phase lock loop setting (PLLnnx).  While Parallax does not recommend overclocking, this crystal has been proven reliable for running the Propeller at 100 MHz in environments from -20 °C to +70 °C; exceeding the standard commercial temperature range.
