Product Description
Code.org micro:bit Educators’ Kit Overview
Code.org’s Maker courses take STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) a step further by inviting hands-on experience and collaboration into the classroom to help teach problem-solving and critical thinking. This Educator’s Kit provides the devices, LEDs, and alligator clips used in the Code.org K-5 Extension Projects or the 6-12 Creating Apps with Devices unit. (See kit contents below.)
Code.org curricula is free and provided under a Creative Commons license. Online self-paced professional development is available to interested teachers. Learn more at code.org/maker.
Each kit contains enough devices for 15 students to participate individually, or for 30 students to participate by sharing a device and utilizing the pair programming strategy emphasized in the curriculum. When possible, Code.org recommends purchasing enough kits so each student has their own device (such as two kits for a classroom of 30 students).
