SwapBox provides an automated shipping destination for packages in high-population centers. If you live in a high-rise or don't want packages shipped to your office, this lets you retrieve them from a 100% secure lockbox. Expect to see many SwapBox installations beyond California in 2014 in high-traffic areas where people frequently gather.
SwapBox worked with Electronic Design Service to produce the Propeller Control system. The Propeller was chosen by the lead engineer Mike Lord because "software-configured peripherals make PCB routing very fast, OBEX source code libraries are available for free, and development in the Propeller is so quick I can get to production quickly". The Propeller is programmed to interface with an iPad for user input, to manage latching mechanisms, and to be networked as larger banks of SwapBox units are installed.
See SwapBox for more details.
