How to use the Cermetek Modem to Monitor Remote Temperatures

Okay, this application isn't wireless, but it does involve communication! Imagine a remote BASIC Stamp microcontroller interfaced to a DS1620 Digital Thermometer and a Cermetek modem. This circuit could easily be adapted for many types of remote data retrieval or diagnostics. The complete application note is available for download, and the StampModem is available for purchase. The schematic and source code for this project are shown below. To demonstrate the Cermetek CH1786 modem with the BASIC Stamp module, set your terminal program to 8 data bits, no parity, and one stop bit. Dial the number where your BASIC Stamp and StampModem are connected, and press "R" to reset the program.
