Written by the popular Nuts & Volts "Stamp Applications" columnist Jon Williams, StampWorks is a hands-on book that guides you through 35 experiments designed to build your BASIC Stamp® programming skills and confidence at the same time. You'll start simple and before you know it you'll be confidently writing sophisticated programs using Jon's "Code like a Pro" tips and techniques - techniques that will serve you as you develop your own applications. The StampWorks kit is recommended for customers that have previous experience with the "What's a Microcontroller? kit" (#28152).
StampWorks experiments are designed to be run on the Parallax Professional Development Board (PDB, #28138) and are fully compatible with other development systems, including the NX-1000. The experiments include annotated schematics so that you can build them on the development system of your choice (some experiments may require minor modification).
StampWorks experiments are designed to build on each other and teach you practical, real-world skills the professionals use when integrating BASIC Stamp microcontrollers into their designs. Examples include advanced LED control as might be used in props or light shows, monitoring and debouncing multiple inputs, using 7-segment LED and character-based LCD displays, stepper and servo motor control, I2C component interfacing, analog I/O, advanced temperature measurement, and much more.
