This kit provides the sensors and electronic components to complete Chapters 1 through 5 of Applied Sensors Text v2.0. These experiments are presented with an Earth Science theme: measuring light, air temperature, water temperature, and the electrical conductivity of water. Sensor data is logged into the BASIC Stamp EEPROM, displayed on the PC in the Debug Terminal, and convenyed with blinking LEDs and Morse code via a piezospeaker.
Kit Contents:
- Digital thermometer IC
- AD592 temperature probe
- Conductivity probe components
- Blue-enhanced photodiode
- 555-timer IC
- Pushbutton, piezospeaker, and LEDs
- Resistors and capacitors
- Pluggable jumper wires
The optional final experiment in Chapter 6 uses a low-voltage pump and the conductivity probe to maintain the water level in a cup, while logging and displaying data from all of the sensors at once. The low-voltage pump and its circuit components are not included with the Applied Sensors Parts Kit v2.0. A Low-Voltage pump supplier and Pump Circuit Parts List are provided at the links below.
Using this kit requires a Board of Education Development Board or a BASIC Stamp HomeWork Board, sold separately.
