QT113 family QTouchT ICs create sense fields through dielectric surfaces such as plastic or glass up to 100mm (4") thick, and can even turn small objects into sensors. These sense fields can work easily through gloved hands.
These ICs are ideal for simple, inexpensive touch controls in almost any product. The QT113 can also be used for material sensing. The devices require only an external sampling capacitor and an electrode (wire) to operate. QT113 family devices offer auto-calibration, drift compensation, recalibration timeouts, plus a variety of response times, output polarities and toggle modes. These parts need no special calibration or adjustment. They automatically adapt to the build-up of dirt, moisture, and temperature variations.
