The 8-pin Industrial DIP package is easy to interface with the BS2, BS2e, BS2sx, BS2p24/40, BS2pe and BS2px24; however, it is the recommended 16KB EEPROM when you're implementing an DIP-based OEM Basic Stamp 2x design. This is a resilient EEPROM that will allow multiple erase/write cycles for non-volatile datastorage or similar applications.
