The LM2940CT-5.0 Low Dropout Voltage Regulator can be used to provide a regulated 5V at up to 1 Amp for BASIC Stamps, SX Microcontrollers or any device that requires a fixed 5V supply. This regulator has a dropout voltage of approximately 0.5V to 1V and has reverse battery protection, over-voltage protection, short-circuit protection and thermal overload protection.
