The Parallax USB2SER device is a mini development tool based on the FTDI232BM USB to Serial UART interface chip. Parallax created this development tool in order to provide microcontroller developers (like our BASIC Stamp customers) to have easy access to a PC’s USB port using the FTDI virtual device drivers. This tool is also a reference design for customer-based applications using the FTDI chip in-circuit. This part requires a Mini-B USB cable (#805-00006) to interface to this unit from a PC (not included).
