Parallax produces our own RF modules from products made by the wireless module leader, Linx Technologies. The Parallax RF modules provide a very easy and low-cost method of sending data between microcontrollers or to a PC.

Features:

• Bi-directional RF communication
• 500 foot transmission distance (based on environment conditions)
• Data rate of 12,000 to 19.2K baud (controller dependent)
• Low power consumption
• UHF frequency of 433.92 MHz

Note: These devices can be connected to a PC serial port using a MAX232 line driver. The circuit isn't supported by Parallax, but it's possible to make this connection with a few dollars of parts. There is an outline of connections on the forums.
