After building my first robot with Basic Stamp 1 Project Board that only could detect and avoid obstacles. I wanted a more challenge and as competence development I decided to build Society Robot (SR-1). SR-1 is a simple Personal Robot that can act as society, clean and guard robot with behavior based artificial intelligence with 4 personality layers. The layers are accessed with speech voice recognition of trained phrases. Also SR-1 can speak with preprogrammed phrases depending what it recognize or situation. SR-1:s face indicate its facial expressions like smiling, happiness, sadness, talking or if alarm is activated by a yellow led mouth, blue eyes and blue tears. SR-1 moves with differential driving and when it gets stuck it will after 3 seconds backup, turn right and try driving forward again. As SR-1 is moving around it cleans the floor with a mop. All this is controlled with Basic Stamp 1 Project Board! I have to admit that going from building a very simple and cheap robot, no more no less, it’s fun and interesting hobby. That have resulted in 11 printed circuit boards that I have designed by my own, besides the 3 printed circuit boards that I did bought, programming in Altera Quartus II tool and programming in Basic Stamp Editor.
