The Parallax USB Oscilloscope Software v5.1.1 is a complete rewrite, not an update of the 4.0 software, and includes many improvements as shown in the lists below. This version is Windows XP, Vista, and 7 compatible.
Please note that this software is not compatible with the Understanding Signals v1.0 text, nor does it have the FFT or zoom features of the 4.0 software. If you require these features, please visit the Parallax USB Oscilloscope Software v4.0 page; the v4.0 software requires Windows 2K/XP.
Version 5.1.1 contains all the features of v5.1, plus the following:
Bug fix in 5.1.1:
- Fixed "Unable to retrieve PortsGUID" error when enumerating serial ports on some computers.

System requirements for Version 5.1
- Windows XP/Vista/7
- Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher
- 256 MB RAM, or operating system recommended minimum
- 25 MB available hard drive space
- Available USB port. Since the Parallax USB Oscilloscope is powered through the USB port, it is not recommended to use an unpowered USB hub.
- 16-bit color video card
- Mouse or other pointing device
