This project demonstrates a practical scenario where the SX Microcontroller is used in a comprehensive shipping and logistics corporate solution.
The SX Microcontroller is simply used to relay the information read from an RFID transponder to a central corporate computer. All the data and business rules such as shipment tracking and manifests are maintained centrally in corporate databases and comply with corporate governance.

Application is written in Assembly Language and C++ using the Parallax Integrated Development System and Microsoft Visual C++ for multi-threaded development.
The SX Program is pure Assembly Language and does act as the “Peripheral Driver” where as the Windows Program acts as the full feature thick application service layer. Therefore the architecture is truly multi-tier based. Connectivity to the SX is achieved via the Parallax USB Development tool: USB2SER. USB communications are bi-directional for all RFID incoming requests.
